Irrigation Pumps & Pump Systems

Dry spots don't lie. If your irrigation system isn't delivering consistent pressure to every zone, the pump is usually where the problem starts. Rock City Machine Company has supplied irrigation pumps and complete pump systems to Middle Tennessee homeowners, landscapers, and agricultural operations since 1902, and we bring that depth of experience to every project, from initial system design to replacement equipment.

Getting Water Where It Needs to Go

Irrigation demands vary based on acreage, water source, elevation changes, and system type. A residential lawn has different requirements than a multi-acre row crop field or a commercial landscape installation with a dozen zones. The wrong pump — whether undersized, oversized, or mismatched to the application — leads to pressure loss, motor strain, and premature failure.

We help customers identify the right pump for their specific conditions. Our staff can walk through the technical requirements with you — flow rate, total dynamic head, water source characteristics — and make sure the equipment fits the job before anything gets ordered.

Irrigation Applications We Support

If your current system is losing pressure, cycling inconsistently, or showing signs of wear, our water pump and pump systems service team can diagnose the issue and point you in the right direction.

Specifying & Sustaining

Built to Spec, Built to Last

Whether you're planning a system from scratch or keeping one alive through another season, the details decide how long it runs.

Some customers come to us planning a new irrigation system from scratch. Others need a direct replacement pump for a setup that's been running for years. We handle both. For new installations, we assist with pump selection based on flow rate, total dynamic head, water source, and system layout. For replacements, we work from your existing equipment specifications to find a compatible or upgraded solution. Our inventory also includes the fittings, valves, and accessories needed to complete an installation, including Sure Flo fittings, Flomatic valves, and Cycle Stop Valves for pressure regulation and system protection.

An irrigation pump is a mechanical component subject to wear, seasonal demands, and water quality. In Middle Tennessee, sediment in surface water, mineral content in well water, and fluctuating seasonal demand all affect how long a pump holds up. Pairing the right pump with appropriate water treatment equipment extends service life and cuts down on repair costs. Our water filtration, softening, and reverse osmosis systems can address those conditions at the source. For properties drawing from a well, our water well pumps and pump systems cover the upstream supply equipment that feeds into an irrigation setup.
